Paavai College of Nursing and Research organized a one-day National Conference on “Forensic Nursing: The Evolution of Indian Perspectives” on 1st March 2025 at Pragathi Hall.

The inaugural session was presided over by Shri. CA. N. V. Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions. The Chief GuestDr. Rakesh Kumar Gorea, Executive Director, Medico-Legal Institute, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab, graced the occasion. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent of Paavai Educational Institutions, along with other dignitaries on the dais, lit the traditional kuthuvilakkuMs. Thirumatha, a student, delivered the welcome address.

In his Chief Guest address, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Gorea highlighted the significance of forensic nursing as an evolving and indispensable specialty that bridges healthcare and the justice system. He emphasized its crucial role in addressing violence, trauma, and crimes against individuals while ensuring justice and advocacy for victims and survivors. He further elaborated on forensic nursing’s contributions to forensic investigations, legal proceedings, and trauma-informed care, noting that forensic nurses serve as a vital link between medicine and law, ensuring that victims receive both compassionate care and medico-legal documentation to uphold justice.

The conference prelude was delivered by Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing, Namakkal. The event was also attended by the Director of Administration, Admission, and Principals from Paavai Institutions.

The conference witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 500 delegates from various institutions across Tamil Nadu. The participants received certificates and mementos, presented by Dr. Hepsi Rachel Chellarani, Principal, Paavai College of Nursing, Namakkal.

The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Vismi Vinod, and the conference concluded with the National Anthem.
