The Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) household survey was conducted by Paavai College of Nursing and Research from 13.03.2026 to 21.03.2026 in the adopted villages of Pidaripatti, Ramanayakanpatti, Karaikurichi, Karadipatti, and Elur. The survey aimed to assess the socio-demographic characteristics, environmental conditions, and health status of the rural population through door-to-door visits using a structured questionnaire and observation method.
The findings revealed that most families belonged to low- and middle-income groups, with limited sanitation facilities and a dependence on borewell and public water sources. Common health problems identified included anemia, fever, and hypertension. Issues related to poor waste disposal, inadequate access to healthcare, and a lack of nutritional awareness were also observed.
Health education on hygiene, sanitation, and disease prevention was provided during the survey. The study highlights the need for regular health camps, improved sanitation facilities, and community-based interventions to enhance the overall health and living standards of people in the adopted villages.
